A statement was reported that in the first three months, Ford's net income came out to $2.5 billion. This report revealed a 113% increase in profit compared to any other quarter in their 112 year history.
A factor that rocketed their sales even more was their redesigned, aluminum body F-150 pick up. Along with their other trucks and sport vehicles, a record number of people were buying as gas prices were less than $2 a gallon around the United States. To keep the growth thriving, automakers are offering more incentives and specials to get people to lease and buy more vehicles.
Ford is continuing to update different models including the Explorer and Edge S.U.V. as well as developing four brand new models of trucks.
Ford's first quarter revenue totaled up to be $37.7 billion.
